What should you do when you turn WP

After my ADL-SIN-CKG-HKG-TPE-HKG-ADL trip next week I'll be 80 SC's away from WP, and still have until the end of July before my SC's are wiped, so I'm following this with interest!

Getting to WP is hard work when all your flights are discount economy!

Suggest a Adl/Mel (QF ~$100) Mel/Bkk/Mel (StarClass $549 X 2 = $1,098) Mel/Adl (QF ~$100) run will cost you around $1,300 and will earn 260 SCs. Can be done in 24 hours as JQ29 going up to Bkk turns into JQ30 coming back to Mel. About 90 minutes turnaround in Bkk. Leave Adl around 11:00 and be back around 13:00 the next day with 260 more SCs in your QF account for $5 per SC cost.

You could, of course, do a VERY quick WP status run lasting 5 days covering Adl/Mel/Bkk/Mel/Bkk/Mel/Bkk/Mel/Bkk/Mel/Bkk/Mel/Adl, costing say $5,700 and become an almost instant WP with 1,220 SCs in your QF SC account. Customs at both ends just might ask you what you are doing but then you probably would not need to clear customs as long as you had all the boarding passes and never leave the airports transit areas?

When I received my WP card I went to the airport, well someone else was traveling and the traveler thought that was a nice perk.

Can't do that now.

Interesting this is for Red Roo they have now traveled on QF in the last 6 months and don't want to fly Virgin as they just made it to Gold.

You could, of course, do a VERY quick WP status run lasting 5 days covering Adl/Mel/Bkk/Mel/Bkk/Mel/Bkk/Mel/Bkk/Mel/Bkk/Mel/Adl, costing say $5,700 and become an almost instant WP with 1,220 SCs in your QF SC account.

That would be 5 days of absolute torture flying JQ!

Better off getting cheap ticket to the USA and do some YUP/KUP runs. Total cost would be a lot less than $5,700.

To get your F lounge visits in order, book some cheap-e Jetstar flights that specifically depart from the SYD or MEL international terminal, check in at T-3hours, and enjoy. Not only do I enjoy the salt n pepper squid but also go for the crispy pork belly .... and do not miss out on the desserts. Warm Sticky Date Pudding w loads of caramel, plus a double scoop of vanilla ice cream on top

You could always use any seat award from Adelaide to Darwin vie Mel and Bris in J return for about 130,000 points which would give you 360 sc

Of course, you should also consider a JASA or YASA. For 32,000 points and approx $117 you could earn 80SCs in J on ADL-MEL-ADL.

Any points you earn between now and July will reduce the SCs needed so the pain may be even less.
