Dinner Atelier restaurant Sofitel Darling Harbour
Mr had the charcoal baked flounder (he said delicious). I had the strip loin steak, medium rare, perfect. Duck fat roasted rosemary potatoes, mixed greens with goats cheese and flaked almonds. Mr had a Tamer valley Riesling, I had a nice Barossa cab/sav. Great service, very friendly wait staff, who let us sample a couple of wines before choosing one to drink.

Chinese New Year meal at our Malaysian Chinese friends house last night.

The meal always starts with the ceremonial tossing of the Prosperity Salad - "Yee Sang (also known as Yusheng or the "Prosperity Toss") is a vibrant, communal raw fish salad traditionally served during the Lunar New Year in Malaysia and Singapore. Diners gather around a large platter and use chopsticks to toss the colorful shredded ingredients high into the air. It is believed that the higher the toss and the louder the auspicious wishes shouted, the greater your fortune and prosperity will be in the coming year."

Much more food than this turned up later including lots more home made satay and roast pork
