What I ate today - the food thread

That looks yummy!

A different recipe and improvement on my first attempt (raspberry ice cream post #2026 - absolutely delicious but set rock hard).

I don't have a machine to make it, so experimenting with non-artificial ingredients aiming for the same scoop-ability as shop bought ice cream without the "chemicals". This one super creamy and rich but still needs to sit out on the bench for a few minutes before scoop-able.

Another week to polish this lot off and then try some more tricks I've been reading up.

This last weekend we should have been at a family reunion in Berlin. My wife decided to have a mini one at Perth instead and invited the other two people who had intended to go plus a few other relatives from her 'German side'.

A 'travel themed' bookcase she set up to remind everyone what we were missing - 7 of the 8 of us had trips cancelled because of the current restrictions.

Because of the Berlin connection she prepared Currywurst and chips as the starter.

The mains were mostly German themed.

These included Beef Stroganoff, Brathenldl (Oven Fried Chicken), Pork Schnitzel, Mohrubben (Glazed Carrots), Batkartoffeln (Pan fried potatoes with Bacon & Onion)

Desserts included Cherry Strudel, a couple of Black Forest cakes, & a Creamy Apple Slice

Ive got a foil underneath but didnt put water in it because I didnt know what would happen with the oil drippings. Ive read both yes to water and no to water so will try next time. This is the 1st time Ive ever used a barbie so expecting a lot of mistakes at first

Should I still put water in now or too late?
