I have read the T & Cs but now need it in "plane" English.

If I book an award ie BNE-LAX return now at the 15% discount rate what happens if I need to cancel. It appears they do not treat it the same way as QFF.

When I booked and cancelled a J award last year I was refunded the points and $$, although I had to chase the $$ as it was around the changeover time and things were a little fraught. Can't remember if they took a cancellation fee, but I don't *think* they did that time (which is probably the actual info you're after, right?)

Yes looking at a J award this time but the T & C was not clear. I am happy to get points back less a fee in points or dollars as long as it is reasonable.

I cancelled an award seat MEL-LAX last week. Was charged a cancellation fee of $60 which I opted for instead of 6000 points which I value as worth more. This was in premium economy. Tried to have the fee waived as a plat but no such luck even though I was making another booking after the points were credited back.
