Hey there ICUDr! Bogota? So you are a rolo? :)

My main work areas at the moment are in Sur de Bolivar and Choco, but when I need a decent shower I head back to Medellin.

Am flying MDE-BOG-LAX in a couple of months, so they still have the direct BOG-LAX flights, but they are only a few days a week I think.

Haha yeah a Rolo..

Bolívar and Choco.. Nice and warm!

Avianca had stopped the direct flight to LAX. I'm glad they restarted it as my parents come to Australia every year..

Good luck in Colombia amigo !

In the spirit of AFF I will agree to be the acquaintance (not friend) of a rolo :) And yes they are places that are "warm". I think only a Colombian would understand that term.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I work in intensive care (main area of expertise is cardio thoracics, ie post bypass surgery care) and also do retrieval medicine as a casual contractor during the cold months of the year.

In the short time I have been on AFF I have often wondered what everyone does for a job on here.

Obviously lots of travel features prominently in many people’s lives.

I am not so much interested in your company/organisation’s name, etc., but what you do.

I for example, work as compliance inspector/improvement advisor in the training area.

What do other people do, if you don’t mind me asking?? :)

Executive, Automotive Finance Company for German Manufacturer. Jus 1 year here, after 20 in North America

How's the VW business after all that kafaffle with emissions

I'm a gambler :)

Well to be more accurate I trade in stocks on the Australian and international market.

For most of my business life I was in sales/marketing for building material manufacturers.

I then owned a small retail timber yard until just before the GFC a very friendly land developer came along. He very kindly offered to pay off my debts and make a sizeable contribution to my SMSF.

Having decided to retire anyway we accepted his offer in about 4 nanoseconds and have been travelling ever since.

All of the flights shown under my avatar have been since I retired

I work in Building Control but seem to spend most of my time on Government committees and working groups, Australian Standards committees and as an Adjunct Fellow at a University

I'm an architectural & interior photographer, shooting a variety of projects from embassies to airports.

Spent almost 15 years shooting primarily 5* hotels & resorts worldwide, and some of the owners requested other shoots as well - golf courses very popular with one such owner. This actually resulted in us being sent to North Korea to shoot his new course (stunning!!) under the watchful eyes of North Korean soldiers. Don't think I'll ever need to request our retoucher to "remember to remove those missile launchers and tanks!" ever again; the partially completed hotel & course were closed after an "international incident" that made world headlines, and have never been reopened.

I work for an insolvency and turnaround firm based in regional NSW, also known as corporate undertakers  as well as bankruptcy. So for every business life, there is also a business death, and unfortunately financial distress for many people. Our industry is often much maligned, however we are there to sort out the chaos that often arises from these events.

Oh so your name is George Clooney ... flying around the country sacking people? ;)

Now there's a trip report I want to see! :D Did you get to see 'him' shoot the famed hole-in-one round?

Air Traffic Controller, though have been "back office" for quite a few years now. Have been lucky enough to generate quite a bit of travel through work, plenty of domestic, but a fair share of international as well.

Currently I think my title is software test engineer... I just break IT solutions / software working for a major Australian financial group. The work / life balance is great and I have been to China a couple of times to train my replacements, who despite the wishes of the powers that be, have never been able to do my job well enough for them to cut me :)

I run my own small business, supplying products & systems to keep us all safe from poisonous & toxic gases :)

to expand we're involved in:
Gas detection for underground car parks, refrigerant leak detection
Gas detection for labs & hospitals like oxygen, N2O (like what recently happened at Bankstown hospital) & lots of other dangerous/combustible gases.
fumigation related gas detection, how do you think they kill the fruit flies, weevils and other bugs in fruit, grain, rice & vegetables.
pH & conductivity measurement systems for pharma, food & beverage industries.

About to supply a gas detection system to be installed on a Hercules C130J, got a tour of the aircraft which was very interesting :D

How does one get on the standards committee?
I really do not agree with bits of the 2012 AS1668.2, 2002 was actually better in some ways.
