In the short time I have been on AFF I have often wondered what everyone does for a job on here.

Obviously lots of travel features prominently in many people’s lives.

I am not so much interested in your company/organisation’s name, etc., but what you do.

I for example, work as compliance inspector/improvement advisor in the training area.

What do other people do, if you don’t mind me asking?? :)

I haven no problem answering. I'm easy - nothing. I'm retired :)

But that has cut down my travel now that I have to pay for all of it myself.

That only tells us what you are, not what you do.

What do I do here? Stomp around and be grumpy.

At work "as little as F'in possible". ;)
To quote infamous words said to the CEO at a former workplace.

I do technical support for people using Linux in server/cloud environments. We work remote from home (as does most of the company), so we travel semi-regularly (a few times per year) for the teams to get together for planning meetings, etc - more effective than purely communicating remotely 100% of the time.

I fight in foreign ****holes.

BTW, I think this is an excellent thread. I often wonder..

Another retiree, was in a mainframe environment for some large govt. departments, went earlier than I expected to, but very much enjoying life, well except the last couple of weeks. :(

Now we are pet free, we want to travel together far more than we have been doing. Swmbo has retired from her icu nursing job, but works casually when she wants too. Great arrangement, getting requested leave is no longer an issue, previously we would have to plan up to 18 months in advance to guarantee that her leave would be approved.

Offshore Crane Operator, mostly construction, oil and gas.

Mostly Australia but can work anywhere client can arrange a visa.

Off to Singapore/Batam (Indonesia) early Sept to pick up my vessel and bring it to WA for some work on the INPEX Project.

Very interesting.

Strategy consultant working mostly in public sector. Travel is mainly in the golden triangle.

Agree that this is a very interesting thread. I hope that some of the QF P1s/CLs and OW equivalents (e.g. Boomy) and SQ PPS/Solitaire members chime in and let us know some of their lines of work.

I've spent my first year out of uni at a Big 4 accounting firm but moving to a Sales and Account Management role with a global financial services data/journalism company
