A suggestion from @Catweazle recently has been to start a destination-based thread where one member can ask "what does (destination) look like in (season/month)" and another member can answer with a photo or two. It's a simple idea and hopefully this thread will be littered with examples to help guide members in choosing the correct travel period for their next holiday.

Well I will start with the best time to visit Bangkok.
Definitely December to February as it is the dry season. Temperature 29 - 32 and low humidity with little rain. It is why we are happy to spend Christmas here.
Only downside for us is that it is not mangosteen season.

Can’t help you with May but have been in late April and temperature was about 20 degrees for the whole week with plenty of sun and blue sky. Was a excellent time to visit as roads weren’t as busy and accommodation was very well priced as it was shoulder season

Just how thick is the humidity in Darwin during January? My understanding is that the rain is more or less during the afternoon and less so during the early morning (give and take).

I've been to the PNG highlands during November, but assuming the highland breeze and cooler mornings would make things more pleasant.
