What do you use the amenities zipper bags for after a flight?

- kids pencil cases (if they like the pattern)
- medications bag
- amenities bag (spare/extras i put in checked luggage)
- IT bag (cables etc)
- give away to friends/family when they come to stay / have forgotten stuff (some score pyjamas too.....)
- give to a charity

Failing that they often end up sitting in my bathroom cupboard awaiting one of the above outcomes.

My favourite is the Brics bag from Qatar, now discontinued. They came in many colours and I actually use them as evening bags. They are a quality clutch and quite roomy.image.jpg

The Qantas bags I also use for everything already listed, as well as keeping nail enamel and remover separate and secure from accidents.

The kids enjoyed those bags when they were young, using much of the contents then using the bag for school. I find that my electric shaver with all the attachments fit nicely in those bags. Also good for loose cables and adaptors. Most are good quality so there always seems to be a use for them. Shame it will be so long now before I see them again. Oh how I yearn now for all the things I took for granted while travelling: cramped seats, bland food, weak drinks, long walks to the gate, long layovers in a foreign port. And then there were the people one meets along the way. And the life stories that are shared, the opinions expressed, the fun debates, the new jokes. There was also the change of seasons when travelling north of the equator, and the different architecture of each city. Can you tell I miss it?

I have a couple with various foreign currencies waiting to be used in the future. Hopefully, not too long but ...

I had started gathering some foreign currency ready for our proposed sojourn for April/May that got cancelled. Stored in Sandwich ziplock bags. Luckily not too much sitting idle gathering dust.

(I have currencies from more than 30 countries, but then that's just me, souvenirs of each or more recent trips, keep a couple of the local notes and a few different coins to bring home.)

Good idea, had never thought of that. I am usually left rummaging around in my bag looking for the black nondescript travel case that came with the shaver.

I keep my travel adaptors in one (makes a great toddler toy at the moment), and use another as a bit of an onboard first aid kit (bandaids, panadol, antacids, toothbrush etc)

I also use them for my squat toilet kit - tissues, sanitiser, wipes -more discreet than a clear plastic bag!

I love the little amenities bags you get in PE, Business or First. If I have not used the items, I keep them for guests staying over at our house. I also use the little bags for jewellery or make up when I travel, plus another one for medications for the trip. I've also used them for pencil cases, and to store all my bits and bobs of IT things - phone charger, USB drives, USB hubs, mini travel mouse etc. Mr Seat 0A uses them for stray currency notes and coins so they stay neat in the suitcase. How do you re-purpose the amenities bags?

Fantastic question by the OP. I have been lucky enough in pre-COVID times to amass many of them. What do I do with the ones I still have? This question made me stop and think - and I will attempt to remember just what I have them in current use for:

1.- As per many, I keep various electronic connections/cables in one on my desk.
2.- I have the same variety of electronic connectors in another for travel (that is getting dusty)
3.- I have one with the remains of my travel-earnt horde of shaving products in my bathroom.
4.- I have another with my travel-earnt horde of dental things also in my bathroom.
5.- I have one with the myriad SD cards and USB sticks that I have accumulated.
6.- I have one in my study with various vaping paraphernalia.
7.- In my car I keep another with emergency vaping paraphernalia.
8.- In my car I have another with various emergency items, ranging from panadol to cash.
9.- In my gym bag I keep my gym pass and tissues and a small cologne.
10.- In my car I have a second "emergency" stash, with varied items such as a small multi-tool and some first aid thingys.
11.- I used to work with gold, and hidden in the house is an Emirates bag with a selection of gold samples and memories.
12.- I have one, another big one from Emirates, with a host of miniature cologne bottles gained from other travel kits.
13.- I have one dedicated to whiteboard markers which I use (strangely enough) on whiteboards, which are a big part of my life.
14.- I have one, not used recently, with medications + paperwork for international travel.

Apart from these, my family also uses many - from the classic pencil case of my daughters to other things.

I truly believe that we probably have 30+ in current and daily use!

I used several of the old (90s) red leather QF F packs as travel toiletry bags for years until they fell apart.
Replaced them with a couple of Emirates ones (before they went for the useless "split from the middle" format).
A cute Air France zipped bag has been doing duty in my golf bag for storing tees etc for at least 20 years.
A few older QF business packs (before they became so compact and flat) store a bunch of cables (phone, camera, GPS before I used the phone, spare batteries, power adapters etc)
Even some old QF economy fabric zipped bags are good for keeping various foreign currency separated.

This has given me a great idea to do the same. Never thought of that before.

AFF'ers could make the use of the amenity bag like the secret handshake so we can identify each other in public.

And in a covid time, that spray on moisturiser, I have emptied it and filled it, using a funnel, with our hand and surface sanitiser that is quite watery and I use it all the time going shopping to spray my hands, surfaces, my keys and the shopping trolley. It just went to Cairns and back reliving its use for flying.

What a fantastic set of uses for these little bags. I love to think of them all having a second life.

Well I may have had a sticky beak on eBay for new ones. There is a stack more than I am used to seeing on eBay of the amenities kits I have to say.
Ummm of course I won't buy any 😁

Just saw a few Kris first class female kits on sale for about $50 -$60 on eBay

Interesting
