New to accor i am curious to hear how other members utilise the points they acrue. Hotel stays? FF points?

I have to say I've never used them. Planning to redeem for vouchers at the end of the year when we're headed to Europe. I believe 2,000 points = 40 euro voucher. I have 20,000 points so up to 400 euros.... by my calculations.

I'm sure there is some small print I've missed. And I need to double check and make sure I'm not better off just doing a room redemption.

We burn ours on offsetting the cost of rooms when on personal stays ... best value IMHO.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I've found the best value is to transfer them to FF points. Esp when the conversion rates in Aust is the hotel conversion. Vouchers have been worthless.

What's the conversion rate to FF points? Also do you transfer to QF or other airlines?

If the conversion rates are still the same as old.. then convert to IB (1:1) and then to BA within Avios (directly to BA is 2:1). If you did have 20k for example like above then that many BA points should get you much better value than the hotel vouchers - even if you're stuck flying around Aus domestic. QF was the other option that was 1:1 but BA >> QF for many bookings.

At 1:1 to convert to QF FF and at around $60 for a 2,000 point block for hotel bookings I only redeem for accommodation....on which I normally also get a room upgrade.

We successfully used the vouchers at Sofitel Hyland Shanghai last year. The only dilemma was that check out took longer as it confused the front staff who were being trained. Luckily in the end the boss turned up, otherwise I think we would still be there.

I'll likely transfer to QF at a 1:1 rate. I recommend checking your statements if you redeem for points. I've posted elsewhere on AFF that both cash and points were deducted in one instance. I'd given up on my complaint email and was surprised when I received a response from the Hanoi Sofitel GM some 6 week later.
