The old BA ones that came in a drawstring cotton bag I find very useful, and use to this day. I usually put my carry on toiletries ziplock bag in one along with razaor / toothbrush etc. If there's any excess water from a shower in the lounge on the ziplock bag it gets absorbed by the BA bag without making my carry on wet.

Not a fan of the new BA ones, they are tiny. I have a stack of pre-100 QF ones (Kate Spade) and those are really useful too.

I usually don't need any of that stuff, because I have a really old QF F red leather pouch that lives in my carryon and has small containers of all my things. I'll open these things up and have a look; sometimes there is something I like and I'll grab that to add to my stash. I get home and I have a clutch of these things that go in the bottom drawer. I should put them up on eBay or give them away to women shelters or whatever. Declutter.

You need to add a "take it home and hoard" option.
That’s the “storage” one. There’s no real “storage” of these valueless baggies, it’s all shoved into a bottom drawer because “maybe I might use it or be able to gift it to someone else who’ll use it”.

Usually take them home unopened. Have given a few away as secret Santa presents come work Xmas party time. Give sets of PJs too. Usually well received.

The amenities are handed to any unexpected overnight visitors (need a toothbrush/comb/moisturizer/hairbrush?)
The bags themselves are always useful for storing things, or as travel pouches for cables, chargers, condiments etc. Some of the Thai Airways Royal Silk and First Class ones from the mid 2000s are still in use for cable kits, adaptors, etc

I use what I can onboard and most of the time use the bags as cosmetic bags or travel pouches. I also travel heaps for work and whatever amenities I don’t use I find it handy for short work trips or overnight stays or weekends away.

Mostly I leave them unopened or hand them back. I always bring everything I need in flight and don’t like the waste.

If I have need for the pouch I will keep it. I’m very annoyed I just lost a Finnair one which was the perfect size for my cables and I carelessly mislaid.
