A new passport last December - the old one expired in August 2020 but I thought I'd get ahead of the game and get a new one - in hindsight I needn't have bothered and would have got home from Antarctica on the old one - sob sob
 
A set of new ski gear - skis, poles, boots etc. Purchased with a plan to be skiing at Falls Creek early next month as well as in North America at the end of the year. Neither of those trips are happening now. We might be lucky enough to get to Falls Creek at the end of August if the lock down is lifted at the end of the 6 weeks.
 
Not me. I wanted to ahem, use the council rubbish bin for a bag I couldn't squeeze into my domestic bin. On the Esplanade at one of Adelaides beaches. To my horror I looked down and saw I was wearing ugg boots so scuttled across the road to home as quickly as I could.

When we lived in the Hunter Valley I used to keep a spare pair of shoes at work - so many times driving to work I would get there and realise I still had my ugg boots on !
 
Tickets. For a cruise for all things from New York via Miami for all places.

Luckily, I got them fully refunded by now.
 
A pair of new ski gloves. I bought them at the end of our Jan ski trip in the Dolomites on the assumption that they’d be used in Nz in August and Dolomites again in Jan 2021. Looks like they’ll be tucked away in the cupboard for at least a few years instead. Hopefully they haven’t delaminated by the time I use them.

Not sure if this fits here...but I noticed that Mrs Albatross when shopping picked up 'small' in-flight size apples on special. Makes sense that without the airlines buying the bulk of those small apples that they have to go somewhere.
 
Like some others I purchased new ski gear. In my case new skis.
What worries me most is that by the time I get to use them they will be out of date - that is wrong colour !
Oh the shame of it.
 
I bought a fancy health monitoring wristband/smart watch on 30 July, dispatched 31 July to a 24/7 parcel locker that has allegedly a whole lot of features such as heart rate monitor among a half dozen other health monitoring features. If it ever arrives, I'll guess I'll find out how good it is or isn't.

The latest update I have from Australia Post is that it has been sitting at their North Melbourne depot for 10 days already (and other depots before that).

I lodged a delivery complaint a couple days ago & got an email response saying they would be back in touch in 24 hrs - didn't happen.

I rang them this afternoon and finally got to speak to someone via a call back service. The response from a very polite and apologetic guy was "we are not allowed to investigate your delayed delivery before the weekend as it hasn't been delayed enough. Call back Monday next week and we will look into it and no you can't collect it as you are not allowed to visit the depot" (where it is allegedly sitting gathering dust).

Just wondering if I should start ordering xmas presents now :rolleyes:

I bought an bluetooth adaptor for aircraft to use with my brand new noise cancelling headphones. It is currently a great door stop.

Some good news - I finally got to use my bluetooth adaptor on a flight. It was so wonderful not being attached to the aircraft. Was able to get up and just pop my headphones around my neck when I needed to get up.

Ok so now my parcel has gone from a few km away to 1km away, sat there for near 12 days, now been shipped 1000km away to another state!!!!

What I don't understand is why other companies are not having the problem AP is. I sent a quite bulky parcel 450x450x450 during lockdown from the CBD to a location some 60km away via a different courier company and did not pay for express delivery and it was delivered in 3 days.

I have been waiting just shy of a month for AP to deliver basically a fat envelope 15km, the last 12 days from 1km away.

Now they are telling me it will be at a minimum another week before delivery if it is not delayed again.

Well after a 4 day holiday sojourn to Sydney, my watch has arrived back in Melbourne again overnight. Australia Post are hopeful they can organise delivery of it by end of week, no guarantees though, "they are busy". It's 4 weeks today they have had it.
