Hi I'm sorry if this topic has been covered a million times elsewhere, the only references I came across were quite old and so might not be up-to-date. I have recently changed by CBA platinum cards to Westpac Altitude Black for two reasons. Firstly I hit a points cap on the CBA card and secondly I want to be able to transfer points into FF accounts other than Qantas. I have used my CBA mastercard for paying my quarterly BAS through the ATO portal and got 1 point per $ at a cost of 0.45% and hope to do the same with the Westpac Card but came across this in the terms and conditions (hope this is readable)-

which seems to say that government charges payments will not attract points. So can anyone tell me whether they use their Altitude cards to pay tax and if they have ever had any problem with points accruing?

Cheers

Peter

Yes, it has been covered. And recently.
But, no issues with WBC Altitude cards.

First I can also confirm no problems with ATO on the Altitude Black

but you won't earn 1 point per $

Rates as below, and both transfer as 2 Reward points to one FF point ( SQ, VA etc)

So Amex equals 1.5 FF points per $ ATO cost 1.45%
MasterCard equals 0.625 FF points per $ ATO Cost 0.42%

1.25 pointsAltitude Black World MasterCard[SUP]®[/SUP] (Australian Merchants)
3 pointsAltitude Black World MasterCard[SUP]®[/SUP] (Overseas Merchants)
3 pointsAltitude Black American Express Card[SUP]®[/SUP] (Australian Merchants and Overseas Merchants)
