Flights from BNE to YYC (via LAX) on Westjets website on Dec 2022 are CAD$645 one way.

The flight from BNE-LAX is operated by Qantas with a Westjet flight number and during booking the Westjet website "Checked bags for a fee" but doesn't give me an option to add baggage. The Westjet wesbite says "The baggage policies of the other carrier may apply. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the fees and policies of the airline that is operating your flight." and has a link to Qantas' baggage page.

So my question is, how do I add baggage? At check-in with Qantas? Is luggage then paid to the destination?

Anyone with exeperience with this?

The Qantas allowance of 2 x 23kgs will apply from BNE to LAX, so no worries there. I’d jump on their chat line to see how or if needed to prepay baggage from LAX to YYC.
