Western Sydney Airport (WSI) Discussion

There should have rapid buses to WSI, but it didn't happen.

Also there was a murder incident occured at Mount Duritt last weekend, which is the next suburb to St Marys, the interchange for WSI. I would strongly suggest against using public transport to/from WSI for your safety.
Lol..which flight schedule is probably the more pertinent question. The WSI website hasn't started listing arrival and departures yet, like most other airports do.
It seems the bus from Central does not match JQ362 as a start, as it will be too late by the time it arrives, and the 5am departure was too early.
I suppose Uber is your only sensible and safe choice to/from WSI for now.

A few things here.

It seems the SMH didn’t do their homework, given some full WSI routes like the 772 and 790 bus complete their journey below the “50-66 minutes” in the article. It’s also strange they do not make reference to TfNSW’s own rapid buses report and that two of the routes were implemented in the form of the 772 and partially the 840/845. The map in the article also only shows rapid buses being T-ways only, but that hasn’t ever been the definition of a rapid bus service.

But I won’t expect much from the SMH and Matt O’Sullivan whose reporting is usually dreadful at best.

Secondly, complete hyperbole about public transport safety as usual. Would you also omit taking an Uber because one driver got out of his car yesterday to fight someone in Redfern? Or omit driving because of road rages leading to deaths?

And with JQ362 on Sunday 25/10 that’s a once-off 11am departure, from 26/10 the shuttle seems to be timed for arrival at WSI 3 hours (!) before international flights such as NZ166 and 1.5 hours before JQ’s domestic flights.

Departing from WSI the shuttle is scheduled to depart 2 hours after an international arrival and 1 hour after a domestic arrival, though JQ389 is not served.

Murder happens everywhere. This is just teenagers with poor upbringings and coughty parents (the murderer was already on bail for another offence and was breaching it at the time of the murder). If we want to argue like you, might as well tell women not to use Uber in case they may get sexually assaulted by their driver: https://www.news.com.au/national/ns...ws-story/e93b9f1b187a55e41f717f540c16feda?amp

Going back on topic: Still no information about the Premium Lounge?

Surely you are not serious.

Someone got shot once and another knifed at Melbourne airport, we should never fly through MEL? 🙄
And let's not forget what happened at Kingsford-Smith Airport.... Bikie boss guilty of murder over airport brawl

But back to normal programming. WSI will build up over time. It will suit some, and not others. Being based in Canberra, it actually provides us with a decent second option that is reasonably close.

Exaggerated. Murders are relatively rare, with many being by an individual who already knows the other person.

Using public transport is normally safe. There are 'incidents' but compared to the millions of journeys made by Australians each week using mass transit (trains, trams, light rail, buses and ferries), they're relatively small.

Was it by machete?

Do we really need trains when they lack social distancing, completely overpriced and potentially have thugs on who may attack you with machetes on board?
