On Friday QF and VA (among others) carried many expectant 'Weagles' from PER and MEL; today they are playing host to no doubt many sombre West Coast Eagles footy fans.
Going the 'anti peak' way - MEL to PER on Friday, and the reverse today (bearing in mind that some of these flights might have originated in SYD, or be bound for the Harbour Capital) have any AFFers been on flights that had very light passenger loadings due to the mismatch in demand?
Or did some of these planes fly without passengers in one direction given that the airlines charged extremely high fares to football followers and hence easily covered their costs (with a large margin) for the 'empty' trip in the non peak direction?
I did not notice any super bargain fares for a weekend in PER but did not closely monitor this.
