Great to hear all the different tales of "Do'h!" here.

But I think I still take out the "Darwin"-esque award since I have lost the most money on my misfortune.
anat0l,

I'd say there is a fair chance that someone has lost more BUT aren't about to admit to same :!:

Unless that happens you will be declared the winner (or loser).

You are not alone in being charged a non-show at a hotel for getting the date wrong. I got one date a month out during a 3-month trip that included about 35 different accommodation locations. So I figure that one mistake out of that many bookings was understandable, especially when it covered 4 different months. I can't remember just how much I was billed for the no-show, but think it was likely to be around GBP100 at a time when the A$ was trading around GBP0.40.

I got one.

Flying LHR-SYD on one ticket and needed to connect to MEL. Booked the SYD-MEL flight on the same day as my LHR flight.

The Qantas people were very, very nice and found me seat with no change fee or penalty even though I was a no show from 2 days earlier!

I would be amazed if everyone here didn't have at least 1 story.
