Following on from the publication of my letter regarding our road trip in Romania in the Traveller section of the SMH/Age last weekend, I thought I should show my shots of rally cars, as this rally was a main reason for the trip. Not having access to positions the the pros have makes it a bit difficult to get decent shots, but I continue to persevere....

The yellow Volkswagen Golf IV Kit Car is owned by a local, people say he doesn't need a navigator, he could drive the stages blindfolded!

These Ladas are surprisingly quick, this guy was having a real go, unfortunately he didn't finish the event,

This stage was really good last year, and I wandered a bit, but this year it was different, so hot and my right knee was playing up so there was not much movement.... Unfortunately my friend in the blue Cossie, who was leading the event blew his engine on this stage.

The cars go right then come down the hill, go left and do another loop, then exit right after coming down the hill again.

The dark merc is one of the timing team's cars, it imo was parked in a very dangerous position. As an aside I counted 15 people as part of the timing group from Croatia, RallySafe, (SAS) can do an entire event with one person and if necessary it can be remotely from Ulverston in Tasmania.

The red Skoda may seem a bit silly, but if they win their class, of which they are probably the only ones entered, they will win their section of the championship.
