Webjet = fail

Just a pitty Webjet only reacts in such circumstances as you having to come here for advice.

Then when Webjet post here they don't put a name or position of the poster but claim to be Webjet, another fail.

Matt

Yeah what the hell? No identification just...Webjet1. I probably wouldn't have replied with my details if I had that message sent to me.
Careful OneWorld...confirm their details with the company.
Once again I am dismayed by the negativity of some people here :!:

Why not give them an opportunity to resolve the issue.

Does many people here say who they really are :?: Do we now not believe crazydave98 in case he is not who he says he is :?:

Sounds like someone is being proactive and trying to help, thats the spirit of AFF!

Got to agree with Straitman though, there does seem to be too much negativity, and a lack of constructive responses lately, you have to give people the benefit of the doubt, and give them a chance to prove you right or wrong, which will mean they are not one post wonders.

This is a very good point:

Careful OneWorld...confirm their details with the company.

One should ALWAYS be careful about anyone asking for your personal details via AFF (or any other online site). Anyone can claim to represent Webjet (or any other company). Anyone can register on AFF with the username "Webjet1".

We would prefer (but obviously can't enforce) for company representatives to inform us who they are prior to posting so that we can confirm their credentials.

I can confirm that "Webjet1" used a webjet email address to register his/her account, so in this case, it is probably legit.

But, please be careful in providing personal details to AFF members claiming to represent companies. Before doing so, it might be a good idea to ask for their email address or company telephone number so you can confirm their identity prior to providing any personal information.

PS:
Do we now not believe crazydave98 in case he is not who he says he is :?:
Yes, I can confirm he is who he says he is. As is Kylie Jetstar. :)

Given it is likely Webjet1 is a legitimate representative of Webjet, I extend my welcome to have them on board and I do hope there is a positive resolution for all parties involved.

... These details, if necessary can be shared with individuals concerned via PM, and admin to verify that the contributor is bonafide. crazydave98 has (to my knowledge, unless I've missed something) not provided his name or contact details publicly on the forum, yet still makes valuable contributions from the DJ perspective.

Absolutely.

I think some people are just too quick to jump up and down rather than looking at the positive possibilities. :(

Speaking of web travel bookings, a warning if booking hotel accommodation through travelocity.com. They use deceitful screen wording to grab your booking which they do not honour. I recently made a booking for 3 people for 3 nights at an agreed price through Travelocity, rang the hotel to check that the booking had been only to be advised that a booking had been made for 2 people and I would have to pay extra for the third! After calling Travelocity many times, they will not budge and I'm left with no option but to pay the extra amount even though they had told me that it was incorporated in the quote they gave me.

Webjet are just like most of the on-line booking sites - Just grab your money and no support. I've just been thru a lot of volcano induced flight changes and Just Flights were as good as useless. I will only be booking direct thru airlines in future.

Re: Webjet Wobble

I have booked many flights to Europe via Webjet and find them super - They have even waived their fee one time when I made a mistake in my booking and had to change my flight.
Once I have booked my flight its up to me to keep a check on my flight departure dates and time - I do not expect Webjet to do it for me, nor would I expect the Local Travel Agent in the high street to do it for me if I had booked through them!
Once you have booked a flight you keep check with the Airline in question. Most times the Airline you have booked with will keep you up to date with any changes and I do not know how this did not happen in this case.
Webjet is there to get you a good deal in regard to fares and they do this very well.

Interesting that there are 3 posts in a row from first time posters although 2 of them have been members of AFF for a while.

What a wake-up call. I've just come back from Europe and was struck by the number of flight changes that I observed (I guess as airlines desperately seek to stay afloat financially and keep flights full and not dispatch half-empty flights).

Just to consolidate the flight check sites for the various booking engines
(if in doubt which one to use, try them all):

Galileo at viewtrip.com
Sabre at virtuallythere.com
Amadeus at checkmytrip.com

y sympathies to the parents of Oneworldplus2. I modestly thought I was an experienced traveler, but I would have been caught by that as well.

I believe Webjet are looking after things in this case, which is all we can ask for, mistakes happen, how you fix them is the big question.

Yes very, particularly where such a topic brings them out to make such a strident defence.

I'll reserve my judgement as the posts are sufficiently different and certainly do not run down the same party line as each other.

I notice that if trying to read the forums and not signed in myself I get a prompt saying something along the lines of I've exceeded the number of posts I can view without being a member so perhaps that would account for a slight increase in new members.

Although you can of course sign up to AFF and not post, the fact that if someone has a handle they may as well give their 2c worth on a thread.

Cheers

Could someone please advise me how this was resolved?

What was the (on line) travel agent able to do for the passengers in question?

Tks

****** from Webjet has contact me several times and is keeping me updated as the progress continues. Seems like there will a resolution soon.

Just thought I would add my recent good experience with Expedia to this thread. I recently had to cancel a booking, only a few hours before my husband and I were due to board, for flights from HK to Guilin. I phoned Expedia and quoted the itinerary #, explained that we were not able to travel and was told that we would be refunded the full amount within 12 weeks. I must admit I was a bit dubious about this and not very hopeful of seeing this money again (except via a claim through my travel insurance). However, I am delighted to report that the money has been refunded and credited in full to my Visa card less than one week later.

Glad to here.

Good to see a new company on AFF listening, and then folowing up.
