I will be in London for the 3rd and deciding SOO Rugby League match on July 17th. Any tips on the best way for me to access coverage to this game. Local Pubs , Internet ?? Any UK based AFFer's that watch the games.

My nephew was in London during game 2 and he mentioned something about going to the the Walkabout pub to watch the game.

Plenty of places available....

Walkabout (any branch) is probably the most reliable... That said, the boof-heads also head there, so depending on your mood, it could be either a big catch-up with Aussies with passion or a bunch of idiots who are drinking too early in the morning.

Many other hotel bars and pubs can stream the game ... Will know more places in the near future.

We watched it at the Octoberfest Pub, 670-680 Fulham Rd. SW65SA a few years ago. As it was a few years ago, suggest you call them (+44 207 736 5293 ) or e-mail ( [email protected] ) to confirm they still show it.

All the Australian Rugby League is on Premier Sports. It is a bit like Setanta here where you can get it on the Foxtel platform (read Sky for UK) but it is a separate channel that you pay for separately. In fact I think it is owned by the people who own Setanta.

I went into a pub that was just your standard size pub (no Coogee Bay sized hotels in England) and they had it and I watched a club game earlier in the year.

You shouldn't have to look too hard to find a pub that has that channel and seeing as it is on at 11am on a Wednesday morning, I doubt they will have an issue putting it on for you.

Thanks everyone. I will check out the access to SKY TV in the hotel I am at or failing that I have found a Walkabout Pub at Temple St which appears to be the closest to where I will be staying at Blackfriars. Thanks Heaps I do not want to miss this game.
Go Queensland !!

Finding a pub open before 12 that will let you change channels might be a bit difficult. But hotel bar should be OK. One thing about walkabout is that you will get the "atmosphere" of the match too.

Thanks everyone for your tips. Atmosphere was absolute at Walkabout Temple St. Place was chockers and on the hottest day of the year. Was sweating like a champion in my Maroon jersey...But all was worth it as the mighty Queenslanders prevailed !!!
