I haven't stayed at a Waldorf Astoria yet but I would imagine their rates would be close to that of Crown Towers Sydney or maybe even more?

Agree. I think Park Hyatt is the main competition for Waldorf Astoria. The Crown rates are equally as high but the views are rubbish compared to the Park Hyatt or where the Waldorf Astoria we be.

We get amazing corporate rates at the Hilton group so will be interested to see what this property coughs up.

Agree re: above - Crown Towers Sydney views pale into insignificant compared to the above mentioned. Hate the location too. Also hate the business behind it and what they do - so quite happy to give them a miss.

Some further progress with a JV announced between Lendlease and Mitsubishi Estate Asia to progress the development. I hadn’t realised the site had been embroiled in issues.

The site of the old Goldfields House! My first office in Sydney, geologist come-investment banker, I had my own office with windows over Circular Quay on one of the upper floors

“This is orright”, I thought. “Arriviste”.

In my ensuing posts in Sydney, I moved progressively further away from the Harbour

I was sad to see old Goldfields House, with its marble and brass fittings and lift attendant, go.
