Hi
Does anyone have any recent experience of being waitlisted with Singapore Airlines Business class from UK to Perth / Adelaide? The London to Singapore leg is fine, but not the Singapore to Perth, 5 waitlisted flights over next 20 days into Adelaide from Singapore, whats the likelihood of seats being offered and any idea when we will be informed of availability? First waitlisted flight is 23rd September.

Hi and welcome to AFF!

Is this a paid cash ticket or one using miles? If miles I'd say you have almost no chance of it being confirmed due to passenger caps. If this is a paid ticket you're really waiting for one of the few people already on the flight to pull out. Which may be unlikely unless they return a positive covid test last minute for example. But a call to Singapore Airlines to chase it up might be a good idea.

Hi thank you for your response and the welcome.
My husband has a sponsorship and the company paid for our flights
We had a confirmation for flights London to Perth on 7th September but had to pull out due to positive covid test. Singapore airlines have now waitlisted us for 5 flights to Adelaide over the next 2 weeks.
We do call them regularly but they say they have no idea if we will get our seats due to waiting on numbers from the Aus Gov. So in limbo really.....of course cant book a confirmed flight until Jan 2022 which is a long wait when you are homeless and jobless due to pending emigration

I think it's going to be tough. You might want to get in contact with madrooster, an AFF member who is also a travel agent who has been working closely and advising many AFF members on how to get back to Australia in these difficult times. Madrooster has also been a guest on several of AFF podcasts talking about how to get home. You should be able to do a search and contact them by direct message.
