Hi I have a waitlist booking from Dubai to Brisbane in J on 1 January 2016 for wife and I. Is a saver booking.

Booking was made a few weeks ago. On looking at my account tonight I noticed the following "W
e are unable to confirm your flight(s) on the website. There may have been changes to this booking that were not made online. Please contact your local Singapore Airlines office for assistance"

Is this normal for a waitlist booking. If not I will contact SQ. May be good news!

Unfortunately have no idea, but would love to know. When you find out, can you post please. Many thanks, Suz

Have phoned SQ and they were not able to give me any good news! They said no update or changes to the booking so remain on the waitlist.

From what I have read on other threads would seem chances are slim. As we plan on being in Dubai for New Years Eve need to leave on 1 January to be back in Brisbane on 2 or 3 January.

Can do a standard booking for 290,000 points for two but now tossing up to fly back with Malaysia Airlines which is 153,000 points for two in J one way. A saving of 137,000 is nearly one return fare to Amsterdam in J from Brisbane.

Think I'd take the MH flight if still on offer - especially given the saving. Can you cancel the MH flight without too much penalty if the SQ waitlisted saver flight becomes available?
