AN INDONESIAN volcano caused a number of flights to be delayed out of Darwin last night.

But passengers didn't seem too concerned - with many rejoicing that they had more time for a beer before boarding the plane.

Bree Davie, a British tourist transiting through Darwin on her way back to Europe, was booked on a flight to Singapore that was delayed.

But she was hopeful of making the connecting flight and getting home as planned.

"I have a five-hour delay in Singapore, so hopefully I'll be OK. But I'm not sure about other passengers," she said.
