I am traveling to New York in the next few months and was wondering if anyone as used visasignaturehotels.com to book their stay? I have an Australian visa signature issued card.

It seem to offer some great extras. My only concern is during the checkout they are unable tell you if the rate is prepaid or not.

  • Best available rate guarantee
  • Automatic room upgrade upon arrival, when available
  • Complimentary in-room Wi-Fi, when available
  • $25 USD food or beverage credit
  • VIP Guest status
  • 3PM check-out upon request, when available
  • Complimentary continental breakfast daily in-room

Website indicates that the signature site is only for US cards. Other countries should use the link suggested by asterix. Although not clear it seems the booking is not prepaid, but don't take my word for it.

Mrs andye got access to this with a Woolworths money credit card. Seemed quite an odd fit

I booked a stay at The Darling in Sydney in March about 3 weeks before our stay. It was not prepaid and the hotel billed my card shortly after we arrived. I'm not sure if that is the same for all hotels booked through www.visaluxuryhotels.com though.

It's ok, just check the rates because you may well decide booking a much cheaper rate makes more sense than paying the premium rate if the additional perks don't fuss you too much!

Generally these sort of sites are flexible rates, so useful to book and cancel as needed.

Beware you may not get loyalty points with your hotel's rewards program. An IC has refused points for a stay booked through Amex Travel.

Amex travel seem to sell through a wholesaler. Not sure how these other sites are treated. Virtuoso use a GDS so will give points.
