A quick question - my partners mother is going to Bali this week and we have organised some Indonesian Rupiah for her. I know there's a USD $25 fee for visa on arrival. Do they accept payment in Indonesian Rupiah? I have always travelled to Indonesia on an APEC card, so never paid any attention to the whole visa on arrival process.

When I went in Feb 2007 they accepted IDR USD AUD plus credit card.

They will accept most major currencies, Visa and Mastercard. Note that the rate is usually pretty bad. Best to get some USD unless you're buying them from Travelex, etc.

Also, the US$10 for three days visa is no longer available (even though it's still listed on the embassy website).

Thanks all for the replies. Had heard that they do accept AUD, at a woeful exchange rate, sounds like the ER for IDR is just as bad. Between us we should be able to find enough USD without having to exchange any more.

A few trips to Indonesia and China and the APEC card starts saving you money, not just time.
