Hello,
First post. I have an ANZ Qantas Frequent Flyer credit card. I sign for all transactions and don't have a pin. The card has a chip. Somone the other day said I won't be able to do that (sign for purchases) overseas this year on my travels as countries don't accept signatures anymore. How true was his statement.

I can only speak for the UK, US, China and Malaysia and I had no problems signing for payments.......apart from one store - Comet in the UK. (Even then I'm sure that it was staff incompetence!)

If i was you i would get a pin just in case... I was in Singapore in 2009 for just one night and had lost my keycard the day before when leaving Vietnam (which i usually use for eftpos/atm transactions etc) and had little cash and went to a supermarket and tried to use my credit card to get a few supplies for dinner and they would only accept with a pin...

It may not be a country thing but a store by store, company by company thing... still if you need to use it, and you never know under what situation you might, it would be better to have both options...
