Hi all,
I usually fly Qantas and know very little about Virgin's frequent flyer program, so I apologise if this is a silly question... I recently had to fly Virgin for a trip to Melbourne so joined the Velocity program. The points have now been posted, and I received 570 points for the CBR-MEL leg, and 695 for the MEL-CBR leg. I assumed there would be a minimum points guarantee of 1000 - obviously there isn't. But why did I get different amounts of points for the same flights?

Points are based on fare paid, not miles flown for Domestic.

As stated above, it's points per $ spent which I think is fairer than the Qantas way of 1000 points regardless of if you spent $400 or $89 on the ticket
