Virgin platinum / Hilton Diamond expiring

I hit plat for VA fairly regularly and a few years ago opted in to the Hilton Diamond free status.

I think that’s about to expire (it’s 2 calendar years right)? I don’t stay frequent enough to retain - will I drop to gold equivalent or just lose status entirely?

also, has anyone used their Hilton status to match to another hotel chain eg IHG? Just wondering if I can stretch another 12 months out of it
