Virgin has quitely cancelled their newish direct BNE-AYQ flights over summer

Received an email for a “schedule change” with my direct BNE-AYQ in December 2025 flights being rerouted over MEL and also a change of days. So a 3 hour flight now turns into 7-9 hours (different timing for forward and return flights). I rang and asked if I could move the flights until April/May next year but was limited to rebooking within 2 weeks of original flight date. Of course no direct flights available within that time frame. So I ended up canceling the flights.

This is a real pain as the flights were booked under the previous status credits system and I would have achieved platinum at my renewal. Grrrrr
