Interesting. Somewhat devalues the "fly together and save" offer on the Virgin Money credit card... Given that it is no longer 2-for-1, it works out at about 30% off on Saver and saver light.

I can also report TRA01 works into January too, used it to book a very cheap BNE/MKY Trip...

...Only disappointment was that both flights are in E190s >_>

I just realised what I wrote was not all that clear. TRA01 code is valid until the end of December. Bookings can be in the future (i.e sale dates). Happy booking everyone

Is the Boxing Day sale likely to turn up better airfares than are currently available?

Looking to play some golf in Melbourne in April and May and currently using TRA01 the airfare is ~$110 one way OOL-MEL and ~$140 one-way BNE-MEL.

I know the BNE-MEL can get cheaper but is the OOL-MEL likely to get any cheaper?

I tried to use TRA01 last week in conjunction with the DSC but it didn't work SYD - OOL - SYD or OOL - MEL - PER & return for travel in April.

If I book flights now they are covered under the Double SCs promotion anyway.

I have lost count the number of times I have used the discount code.

There is nothing special about the Double SC promotion. Any VA flight will be OK.

No luck for me using the code TRA01 for BNE-DRW on 2/1/14 returning 5/1/14. "Our system did not find any promotional fares for the given promotional code."
