I have noticed some changes the past few weeks in the bag drop process for Webcheck.
In the past week at Sydney, Melbourne and Maroochydore there is still a counter marked 'Webcheck Bag Drop' yet the only queue is bag drop for Blue Check.
The problem now is that with so many people using Blue Check, the queues are quite lenghtly.
Twice this week at Sydney the delays were 8 & 14 mintes respectively in the queue and 9 minutes in Melbourne.
Even greater delays at smaller airports such as Gold COast of Maroochydore because I notice they either have one queue for all or like OOL they are pushing everyone to use Blue Check.
The end result is that it isnt faster at all.
Last week at Maroochydore it was close to 20 minutes and although they again have a webcheck bag drop marked counter, there is only one queue for everyone.
Basically defeats the purpose and their promotion of a quick process now.
Until recently there was a separate queue for webcheck guests and although handled by the same staff as the Blue Check, they would call the next webcheck person in that line ahead of the Blue Check ones.
Anyone else have any experiences with this?

I had to check an item last Monday morning at SYD.

I have to say that I found it all a bit confusing - there were two web-check bag-drop queues and one combination blue-check/web-check bag drop queue. However the blue-check terminals are placed in such a manner that you can't easily find out where any of the queues actually start, and trying to squeeze past people using the terminals can be difficult! The check-in area seems a bit disorganised in SYD. MEL doesn't seem to be as badly laid out. Thankfully there always seems to be a few helpful ground staff circulating during peak periods helping pax go to the appropriate place.
