Virgin Blue plummets into the red - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

Virgin Blue has announced a full-year net loss of $160 million, because of falling passenger numbers.
The result is in stark contrast to last year's net profit of $98 million.
The airline says the past 12 months have been the worst operating environment in Virgin Blue's 10 year history.
Late last month, Virgin Blue forecast a loss of between $160-165 million for the year.

Not really unexpected I wouldn't think.

The big nasty was the accounting adjustments for ineffective hedging and fx, these alone total nearly $160m.
