Virgin Blue increases fuel charges, expands Delta codeshare agreement | The Australian
VIRGIN Blue Group today joined Qantas and boosted fuel surcharges on international and domestic flights. The airline announced today that it would boost surcharges on V Australia return flights to Los Angeles from $330 to $480 from May 10.
This compares to a levy of $500 on a return Qantas trip and brings it into line with the surcharge on V Australia flights to Abu Dhabi.
The carrier will also add $10 per sector on Virgin Blue and Pacific Blue international and domestic flights from May 6.
Virgin Blue chief executive John Borghetti said fuel prices were now 55 per cent above the 2010 average of $US90 per barrel and currently stood at $US140 per barrel.
