Virgin Blue gets the nod to join international airline body | The Australian

VIRGIN Blue has taken a significant step towards improving the quality of its brand and enhancing its international operations by becoming a member of the world's most powerful airline body.

Virgin Blue and its international subsidiary V Australia have been accepted into the International Air Transport Association, which represents 230 airlines in more than 120 countries.

Membership, which required Virgin to pass the rigorous IATA Operational Safety Audit, gives Virgin cheaper access to a host of front and back-office services to help contain costs, improve cashflow and maximise efficiency.
