No need to stop in HKG or LAX, it could just be a return to London.

You can also add DL sectors in the US to get to other US destinations, for example including LAX-NYC rt adds approx $700 so not the best value but it is possible to do on one ticket.

They aren't. I am able to see this fare as well and I am not part of any chain.
