SYD-HBA early morning flight on Saturday was successful at $60, but not on today's lunchtime flight HBA-SYD for the same amount; 4 seats available with 7 people when I got an increase your bid e-mail

$60 unsuccessful yesterday SYD-CNS. Received the “outbid” email a week ago but wasn’t fussed as 3A and empty seat next to me anyway which stayed empty.

$60 successful on return tomorrow. Really just $60 for lunch as I was again in 3A already but a bargain for a 3 hour flight, not to mention the original flight was just $75 which is wild (though Cairns isn’t exactly the place to be this time of year).

$135 is pretty decent for a 3hr flight in whY these days, let alone J.

Success for 2 at T-25, $65 for ADL>MEL.
No luck for BNE>MEL for 1, but it was J0 over a week out.
Holding out to see if 1x for MEL>BNE for $80 clears, I got the 'outbid' email, J4 currently.

I should have added that I also got the outbid email on my CNS-SYD sector last week; ignored it, and upgrade cleared. 🙃

Seems a bit sus.

Unsuccessful at minimum $55 for BNE-SYD yesterday (Friday) on VA912, however was successful this morning (Saturday) at minimum $55 for the return on VA913.

The scrambled eggs on this morning's breakfast had split though - Bacon, beans and potatoes were nice though.

VA871 MEL-SYD 5:30pm departure, $70 successful at T-7 (cleared within 15 minutes of making bid).

My original Y class window seat pre-assignment had mysteriously got lost at check-in so was stuck in a middle seat or paying plenty for an exit row, so pretty happy with this outcome.

Got the outbid email for MEL-CBR VA281. Put down $70 which was just a smidge above the minimum of $65. Not fussed if I got it, not fussed that I didn't - but you gotta be in it to win it :)

Got outbid and unsuccessful e-mails at $60 and $71 respectively for VA412 SYD-ADL this morning; J was empty until this week

Empty? That's extraordinary. And to not upgrade you even for $70 seems odd.
Everyone else bid higher I guess! J was full (as was the rest of the plane, being the Mad March long weekend). When I got the outbid e-mail (where I had bid $65, there were five seats and six people) and I think about $270 would have pipped everyone else. Not too fussed since I have lounge access (baked beans instead of chipolatas today boo)

Booked my flight back in June and it was already $220 ... But the double points was an (unexpected and forgotten) welcome

Flight to Perth from Sydney on VA0551 for tomorrow (13th March) - made my $125 bid yesterday (11th), which was the minimum amount. At that time, there was still 6 seats open and only 2 taken. The bid was successful and came through this morning at 6.30am! Original Fare was $361!

For PER-ADL VA716 on 19 March I just got outbid email at $65 (for 2x pax). I’m upgrading from a Reward Economy booking for 2, as platinum (so already have free economy X seating).

It reckoned highest bid was $94, bumped mine to $101.

Not sure how to check how many seats are available in Business though. If I go to book a business seat on same flight it says “2 left at this price”, but obviously could be more left at higher prices!

You can try booking four seats.
