Virgin Australia UpgradeMe pricing and success

It's common practice for the outbid notices to only refer to the one other highest curent bidder, your minimum bid could still be accepted if there is more than one seat available

I chucked in on a minimum $55 bid for CBR-BNE. Got the outbid email. I'm not going to bid higher, I'm not that fussed as I have lounge access so can get a bite to eat there. Will see what happens. Flight is on Saturday.

I did not get in J, was a full section though so lucky to those that got in.

Why would you bother for a 1 hour flight. Surely you could have survived in YX?

My wife recently flew CBR-OOL in Y and got the offer for $100. I advised her not to take it. How could it be worthwhilw in those J "cabins" that are open for the world to view and smirk? It's enough to make J pax cringe, Shame on Bain (but they have no shame, just a profit at all costs motivation).

Bid and got 2 x ADL-SYD this evening for $50 each.

On a cheap Lite fare.

In the days when Status credits actually meant something, I'd have likely bought Biz fares. I do not care one iota any more.

Planes both ways were the nasty non divider, with no cheap TEMU Shower Curtains fitted.

Only Virgin could take 2 years to fit those simple things. Several folks strolled up to use the loos.

Arrived in Sydney at 6.50pm and went into lounge to have a real coffee, and send an urgent email, and it was CLOSED. One of the Lounge matrons came to door and opened it, and told me this.

Bain Nickel and diming to the extreme. I walked past a departure lounge for a flight to Perth at about 8pm as I recall, so no idea where those Elites and biz pax were spending that hour.

You cannot make this stuff up. :(

The last VA operated flight from SYD last night departed at 7pm to Melbourne. There was no 8pm flight to Perth last night.

The lounge closes when the last flight of the day is called for boarding. Seems pretty reasonable to me.

Not really following @twinaisle? What’s the shower curtain and how does it stop abuse?
It deters Y pax from using the front toilet just like the magnetic rope does. Therefore reducing the need for the crew to tell people to go down the back, which they cop a fair bit of abuse for.

Considering a major complaint of the new configuration is Y-pax having unimpeded access to the forward toilet, I'm surprised the curtain is getting so much flack when it addresses exactly what people have been complaining about.

They'll be wearing body cams next, like Woolworths staff are starting to.

Or maybe they can truss-up the apparent large wave of violent attackers, or those daring to sneak into J loos, using the transparent Temu shower curtains?

Virgin are 'working hard' to do it all by 2029. It is almost a priority after 2 or 3 years now. Like opening up the Sydney lounge kerbside access.

Cannot rush these vital enhancements that improve 'The Virgin Experience'. :D

We prefer to have tasers like Korean air.

Their priority is money. I'm surprised you're all surprised about all of the problems you're all facing which is driven by cost.

Pretty sure I've said it before but you seem to keep flying a lot with VA for someone who seems to have problems with VA.

I think the complainants fall into four broad categories:
  • Those that just don't like the aesthetics of the curtain
  • Those that preferred the divider and rope for aesthetic or practical reasons
  • Those that have been sneaking into the J toilet and are angry that will now be more obvious and harder
  • Those that just whine about everything Virgin does and will never be satisfied

Yes, you most definitely have posted this many times before. Sincere apologies for paying a small part of your wages for decades.

Whenever I shop at Woolworths, oddly they do not regularly ask me why I am NOT spending my money at Coles.

Paying clients of any business are entitled to have opinions of that business. Smart companies LISTEN.

That's not what's being asked at all. The question is why you've kept shopping at Woolworths (if indeed you actually are doing that) , even while you constantly complain that they're doing everything wrong.

One might conclude that your complaints are not serious and that you're just complaining for the sake of it.

Bid minimum $55 for BNE-MKY on the 6am flight yesterday, and it cleared at T-27.
J cabin was 5/8 full and genuinely wonderful service from CM Ally.
