VA currently has a premium companion sale on, with both domestic as well as international ...but not all routes.

VA has it's EOFY Million Seat Sale through until midnight 16/6/17 for various travel dates and includes select domestic and international in economy and business..

Haven't seen any advertising for this, but found some decent J Saver transcon sale fares when looking for a PER-CBR return trip for next May:

PER to SYD/MEL/BNE/CBR v.v. $1199

also
PER to ADL v.v. $699
PER to DRW v.v. $749

Travel dates 9 Dec 17 to 5 Sep 2018 (except BNE, which has travel dates to 21 Sep). On sale until midnight 16 October.

True, but seems to also depend sometimes on whether it's the 737 or the A330 MEL-PER - I checked a number of different timings and on the ones I looked at, any cheaper fares were on the 737. Same with the recent sale that just finished on Sunday - glad I didn't book then, the J Savers were just under $1600 for the flights I wanted/needed!
