Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Recently had 2 very poor J experiences, I wrote to CS outlining the issues and got a generic thank you for providing feedback response - don't honestly believe they care. One of the flights was on XFB so I guess they have just given up on complaints and are glad to have got someone's fare for a substandard product.

I think they put their hand over their ears and shout "la la la la la la la la". Was blown off in similar fashion when complaining about a FA giving after take-off upgrades from the back to row 3 and J for their friends.

Also included Phil Gunter in the follow up email as he has been helpful in the past, no response from him either! Guess with all the recent issues they are all playing at being Ostriches

Personally I've found him to be condescending and arrogant.......certainly not helpful. I'm glad you saw different as that indicates there is hope.

VA need to realise (IMHO of course), that they have to earn respect and loyalty. They assumed for a while, all they had to do was throw some trinkets on the ground before some high flyers. Hopefully now they understand that kind of loyalty is very short lived........just up until the point someone else throws down a shinier trinket or VA suddenly realise they can no longer afford the trinkets to throw down!

I agree with Swanning_it I tried to have a conversation with the man and he could not have cared even though I am Platinum. So VA's loss as I made WP1 with Qantas. Whilst I am a small business it was around $30K VA didn't get and don't seem to care

PER - MEL on XFE 15/8

Serrano ham with mozzarella and capsicum
Braised beef with sweet Potato and baby radish
Blood orange panacotta

The entree and main was pretty good, I found the panacotta bland and hard.

Same meal as dzinh on Tuesday west to east for lunch.

Overall service was very good as usual.

Why don't they serve butter with the rolls any more. Last few trips have always had to ask for it.

Still no freshly ground pepper from a proper grinder.

When served butter on Tuesday, this is how it was served:

Very sloppy to say the least !!!!!!

Butter is not served standard on transcon anymore, except upon request (though I think it should be offered,) as the tray comes (should) with olive oil and dukkah.

I got butter served without asking both with Dinner when flying on Tuesday night (Brisbane - Perth on a New A330) and with supper (I had the soup) when flying home last night (Perth to Brisbane on a old A330)

Both time it was on a little dish, not a packet as above.

On a side note I flew back on one of the old A330's, now I have been on them at least 3 or 4 times but probably 6-12 months ago. Man these things are coughpy now, nothing works on them, the screens that were working were either out of colour or fuzzy, my light got stuck on and they couldn't get it to turn off until they reset the whole system.

Heard along the grapevine that XFA and B are going to get a nip and tuck. I'm finding the c2c menu a bit boring now it's basically the same stuff rotated month on and month off. Time for new items VA!!! Anyone else notice that there's a extensive use of capsicum in the food?

Lots of nightshades eh......a few people with restricted diets would value that information.

They don't care.....I don't fly!!!

I got an email today from Virgin in regards to my issue with Phil Gunter and you will be pleased to know he is no longer with the airline.

Does anyone have a photo of the saffron and prawn fettuccine on the current A330 Eastbound menu?
