I know its not the most reliable source but wikipedia shows Virgin as awaiting 9 MAX 8 deliveries. Does anyone know where the discrepancy between 9 and 12 comes from? The 12 figure is probably correct but have Virgin exercised any more options or changed MAX 10 airframes to MAX 8s again to boost the number to 12?

The annual report gave a good snapshot, with the latest update indicating 13 this FY as far as deliveries

I recall he said at the FY results on the briefing , is a chance deliveries might slip either side of the FY pending delays from the manufacturer. We are talking only a month here or there.

The CEO spoke to this at last year’s analyst briefing. They will go either way and it all depends on what is happening on the debt market. He said there was some very attractive rates on offer.

He made the point clear that Virgin will simply do what’s in the best financial interest of the company, be it financed or not.

A more disciplined approach compared to how the operated prior to collapse.

VBY and VBZ are the unencumbered aircraft I'd suspect. I'd be surprised if the 8 other 738 aircraft that has "Virgin Australia Holdings Pty Ltd" as the registered owner also had mortgage arrangements on the side.

All the other leased and encumbered aicraft having their lessor(s) as the registered owners of the 70+ aircraft, whilst most of the 22+ remaining encumbered aircraft have VA shadow companies e.g "VB Leaseco" as their registered owners.
