At this point I have no actual booking, but Hopper has charged my credit card the full amount ($816).

Is it a pending transaction? It may not settle and will clear after a few days. I've had that happen with failed online transactions from other vendors.

Yes, it shows as pending currently (as all transactions do when they first appear on your statement).

Edit: their support team got back to me after an hour and said the charges had been voided. I then successfully made a new booking.

No horror stories from my end but mine was a straightforward trip with no multi segments. Successfully took one trip to Brisbane, and taking my second one to Melbourne this weekend. Of course, YMMV.

J SYD-BNE or MEL gets you 160 SC. Two return trips and you only need another 80 SC to maintain Gold

T&C's corrected on the VA Holidays site; that would have been an oversight from the previous VA Holidays promotion, where the email was sent out without the travel period updated :/

Ahhh the usual nonsense from VA. Why make it easy to understand when it's easier to complicate. They never seem to get the T&C's clear without ambiguity.Glad to see it's been picked up...but should have been when releasing the "offer".

I was wondering why there were so many outbound flight options for CBR-ADL, but only the single direct flight option for the return leg!

Yep, VA is currently working on a fix with the guys at Hopper. Return flight results are bizarrely linked to the outbound time and date. Change the outbound flight time, and you'll see the return flight results change. Would be good to see more examples here.

I just tried to book this - return flights from Sydney with 3 nights accommodation in Bendigo but it seems only Melbourne hotels can be booked....
