Received by email this morning (but buried in the fine print) for bookings made until 26 July for travel from 25 Aug 26 until 22 June 2027

Well worth booking for the old Status Credit earnings table - even better when it is double.
And especially good for overnight business trips when I need to stay at a hotel anyway.

Virgin Australia Holidays Double Status Credits Offer
During the promotional period of 12:01am AEST 20 July 2026 until 11:59pm AEST 27 July 2026 (“Offer Period”), Velocity members will earn double Status Credits on the Virgin Australia Domestic and/or Virgin Australia International short-haul and/or Trans-Tasman flight components of an eligible Virgin Australia Holidays booking made with Hopper at https://www.virginaustralia.com/au-en/holidays, for travel between 25 August 2026 and 22 June 2027 (“Offer”). This is in addition to the standard base Status Credits earn on the fare type originally booked (i.e. Lite, Choice or Business) and the number of miles flown as part of the Virgin Australia Domestic and/or Virgin Australia International short-haul and/or Trans-Tasman flight forming part of the eligible booking.
Status Credits earned from Virgin Australia Domestic and/or Virgin Australia International short-haul and/or Trans-Tasman flights, including the double Status Credits under this Offer, are typically allocated within 2-3 days of completed travel, but timing may vary. All Velocity Members named on an eligible booking may be eligible to earn Status Credits for the booking, including the bonus Status Credits under this Offer, if they have submitted their valid Velocity Member number at the time of booking, or by contacting Virgin Australia prior to check-in. Status Credits are not awarded on any cancelled or un-flown bookings.
Virgin Australia Holiday packages booked via https://www.virginaustralia.com/au-en/holidays are provided by Hopper and all bookings made through this platform are subject to the Virgin Australia Holidays terms and conditions.
Velocity Frequent Flyer may vary or end this offer at any time.
Velocity membership Velocity membership Terms and Conditions apply.

Thanks OP, but, I need 337 Status Credits (at least 200 from VA marketed and/or operated flights) by 7 Aug 2026 to keep Gold. Is this possible?

There's no way this is back. My god. This is the 4th time VA have offered bonus status credits this year, 5th time they've offered bonus status credits.

We might as well call DSC the new norm and just hang around for triple.

I always have trouble with Virgin Australia holidays. It'll be fine until I get to selecting the return flight and then usually I'll just be presented with a single option, even on MEL-SYD. That flight always seems to be first thing in the morning and that doesn't work for me.
I haven't find a way to get it to work properly yet. I'm guessing it's some issue/limitation of Hopper.

No, especially when you've only racked up 63 SC in 11 months.

Can't say I've had this issue; was able to select my preferred 5 p.m. flights for the two Virgin Australia Holidays trips I booked from SYD to BNE and MEL during the last DSC promo in March

This issue I often find is that there seems to be some sort of limitation on connecting flights.

If I try to book CNS-BNE-MEL-BNE-CNS then it (most times) only shows this option for the outbound OR the inbound, but not both.

If I select a direct flight outbound then I can select a connecting flight for the return or vice versa.

I did manage just once to book connecting flights both ways during the last VA Holidays DSC promo.
Flying in J that added 480 SC’s to my account for the one trip but even the direct flight is worth 160 SC each way with this promo.

Yeah I find the flight selections frustratingly limited, particularly when there’s a transit involved.

anyone know how flexible the return is? eg. can you book a 1 week holiday but put the return flight a month or two after the hotel stay?

So... not flexible then?
I've been looking for a way to do this as well, but haven't found one so far. I often go to Perth for a week and usually spend half of it staying at a hotel and half of it staying with my folks. But there's no way (that I can see) to do that with Holidays, I need to make a separate flight and hotel booking.

Glad you posted this. Having the same issue where it's only showing 1 to 2 flights on the return, and if using the mobile app, it shows a completely different set of results for the return. So annoying, as I want to book some flights, but this is very limiting. Must be a bug.

I've sometimes found if you go back and choose a different outbound flight (if that's possible) it sometimes seems to knock it loose and then everything is fine. Sometimes it doesn't help. I'm having this issue with a simple SYD-MEL return, where it displays the return flights up until 08:30 and after 17:00, but nothing in between those times.

You are right; the bug appears to be connected to the outbound flight, which impacts whether it shows all the return flights or not.

Apparently, there is only 1 flight from SYD to MEL on 21/12/2026, depending on what time I select for the outbound flight.

Hmm. The VA Holidays website says:

Complete your travel between 25 August 2026 and 22 June 2027 to earn double Status Credits.^

Yet, the fine print in the email I got yesterday says (my bolding):

^Double Status Credits offer terms and conditions
During the promotional period of 12:01am AEST 20 July 2026 until 11:59pm AEST 27 July 2026 (“Offer Period”), Velocity members will earn Double Status Credits on the Virgin Australia Domestic and/or Virgin Australia Short-Haul International and Trans-Tasman flight components of an eligible Virgin Australia Holidays booking made with Hopper at www.virginaustralia.com/au-en/holidays, for travel between 15 April and 16 December 2026 (“Offer”). So, is the travel period from April-December 2026 or August 2026-June 2027? I assume the latter, but this is pretty amateur stuff Velocity!

These offers are the only worthwhile way to earn/renew Velocity status these days. Go to town, I say! ;)
Agreed Matt. The extra good news with this one, is the massive booking window, provided that is correct until mid next year (will get this clarified) :)

So, I just tried to make a booking on the Virgin Australia Holidays website.

I got through to the payment page, and clicked "Confirm and Book", but got an error message. I then clicked "Try Again", but that just took me back to the last page in the booking process.

At this point I have no actual booking, but Hopper has charged my credit card the full amount ($816).

I called Virgin Australia Holidays and they couldn't find my booking at all (since there isn't one). They said they would investigate and get back to me, but they weren't able to send any emails to the email address I used for this booking so I had to provide an alternative.

Not impressed - this is looking like a very amateur operation.
