Maybe never. Trans Tasman flights are code shared with Air NZ. Air NZ do not have J on many flights :(

I hope this isnt the case - afterall, with all brands to be soon falling under the "Virgin Australia" umbrella, it would be disappointing to have such inconsistency in product. I can hear the angry threads now "I thought I was buying business and all I got was Y... and I only got $50 in compensation"

To be honest, while they may not sell a J ticket trans-Tasman, I can't imagine they won't be fitting out the PacBlue planes the same as the others. It makes no sense to have a handful of planes with no fit out when they regularly use those planes on the DJ network as well. At least that's the way I'm thinking about it. ;)

Some how I think its unlikely that the Pacific Blue (ZK-PB*) aircraft will get J class fitted. Its not like they are currently get anyone purchasing Y+ on the tasman.

NZ removed J on the A320s as on average they had 1 paid J passenger per flight. Don't forget around 75% on trans-tasman travel is leisure. There is a very small J market to tap into outside of AKL.

The VH- PacificBlue aircraft do end up on Domestic, although the ZK-PB* tend to only do Tasman/Island hops
