Hi all. I have a 2 for 1 booked MEL-PER (one way only) before Christmas which only one of us will now be able to take. I believe (i.e. guessing cannot find anything written elsewhere) that if I try and cancel one PAX on this booking, both PAX will be cancelled which will result in the need to rebooking the other half on a new, separate booking? Can anyone confirm that is how Virgin would treat that scenario? Based on that I'm leaning to no-showing myself as I believe this will, in the end, be the cheaper option.

The terms and conditions say something like both must travel together. That would suggest splitting is not allowed.

I've cancelled one pax on a 2-for-1 booking previously without issue.

If you have status, go to a service desk in one of the Lounges prior to the date of travel and ask them to split the booking. Then cancel one of them.

I suggest going to a lounge as it's usually easier to do this sort of thing face to face than over the phone.

Good luck.

I've also had no problems splitting the bookings on two previous occasions. Hoping the same is possible again for some upcoming bookings that we need to change!

Happy to report that I was able to successfully split a 2for1 booking this morning and move my partner to a flight earlier in the week, although it was a flexi fare booking (going to miss that option!!).
Also found it interesting in dealing with the Gold Call centre twice in the last couple of days, on both occasions they have said 'that will take me a minute to sort out, leave it with me' instead of making me hold on the line as has traditionally been the case. A very welcome improvement.
