Vietnam - Wise card and cash

We are off to Vietnam and now have Wise in my Apple wallet.
In fact I see 2 “cards” and both say they are visa
One is plain green and the other is”multicolour green”
How useful are these in Vietnam (HCMC, Phu Quoc and Hanoi) ?
Are they accepted ?
Must I have a physical card ? - I do possess a physical plain green one

Also not sure about cash needs there. I propose to take $AUD to convert there - is that Wise (pun intended)

Most of the places will take card. We had some cash for the small markets and street food places who do not take card. I just went to an atm and got some Dong out and became a millonaire overnight haha. I think wise does not charge atm fees for 300 aud and that should be enough.

We were in Vietnam in March and were surprised by how often we could use Wise. In fact, the cash we withdrew (about $400 - first time I’ve been a millionaire ) was not used up by the end of the 2 week trip so will use it on our next trip in March 2026.

We used the Green physical card everywhere. I don’t recall using Apple Pay although I’m sure we could at some places.
