Vietnam Visa Requirements

Hi
Question for anyone who has actually had to get a business Visa for Vietnam. How long did it take from sending your passport to getting it back?

I am getting a bit nervous as I land back in MEL on 29th Sept and I only have 12 working days before heading state side followed immediately by a trip to Hanoi.

BTW - I was told VOA was not applicable to business in Vietnam, however, on the couple of US based websites I had read, it seems this is an option - I'm a bit confused.

I have letters of introduction from the business I am visiting as well.

On my previous trip to Vietnam it took about 2 weeks to get my Passport returned with the business visa (i did have to sent it via my head office so may have only taken a week if it was sent direct).

One site i have saved for future reference is: Visalink

I cant comment on their service as i havent had the need to used it yet, but according to the site there are a few options you can choose to fastrack things.

Vaguely recall that when I last organised VN visa in 2008 (have had APEC since then ) there was an urgency fee that could be paid, not sure if that is still the case.

I actually went to the Vietnam consulate in Sydney to submit my business visa application and passport. I paid the standard fee (can't remember how much) and after about a 45min wait the visa was issued on the spot!

Not sure however whether it would be that quick at the consulate in MEL.
