Viber with New 3 Sim

Family members putting new 3 Sim in phones for overseas travel.
Message appears in VIBER new number or keep number?
Can they keep their original number with new Sim for Viber but not port number?
Is best to just change number?

I usually buy a local sim in any country where I spend time.
Have always left my Australian number in Viber and not had problems.

Bloody Soeasy 3 Sims.
First Sim stopped working after 15 days with only 5 short calls in Ireland. Had 1000 minutes and 12 GB data.
Second Sim placed in phone in Germany.....40 minutes after Oin phone still unable to make or receive calls?????

Need new Sim for calls and some data currently in Germany.
What is recommended right now please?

I usually buy a local SIM in each country also. As well as Viber, Whatsapp also detects the new number. Both apps as if you want to change number or keep your existing registered number.
