Hi Everyone.

Anyone had experience booking directly on SQ’s website as a VFF Gold.
I’m looking at a Lite fare and as I understand KrisFlyer Golds can select seating on this fare for free. I was wondering if this extended to VFF Golds also. Any insight and help is appreciated. Thanks

Nope. The booking system won't even recognise any Virgin status.

At check-in something might appear on your boarding pass like "PTNR - Partner Gold" but otherwise to receive the entitled benefits you really need to carry your card.

Yeah I've seen the status appear on the Boarding Pass, do other Star Alliance Golds receive the same benefit? I'm wondering if its even worth calling up.

On the same note....

I'm a VFF Gold having booked on SQ directly, and my VFF number is on the booking for point/SC earn.

However, I have a stack of VFF points going spare. I understand these can be converted to Krisflyer miles which can then be used to upgrade to PE or whatever.

My question: does my SQ booking therefore require my Krisflyer number on the booking, replacing my VFF number? ie do I need to choose between adding VFF number for SC earn, or adding Krisflyer number to enable upgrade? You can't have both, can you?

You'll need to have your Krisflyer number in the booking to complete the upgrade. At check-in this can be changed back to Velocity or alternatively removed allowing for you to complete a retro claim at a later date.
