Very disappointed about Qantas FF program

When going for business class flights, typically you need to book about a year in advance to guarantee availability. It's super difficult to find business flights a few months out

So it’s things like this …

The double points the QF way

A stark reminder the bank always wins, and double has an extraordinary meaning

Not sure if I'm missing something, or if your observation is it's double points on the base flight earn rather than the earn as an SG? (i.e. double points doesn't include status bonus)

To the uneducated observer, double points means two lots of points not some own interpretation of “base” flights, and tricky exclusions.

Imagine the uproar if double status credits left you short of WP

From the T&Cs

Double Qantas Points are based on the Base Rate which applies, or the Minimum Points Guarantee if applicable and for the purpose of this promotion does not include any Status Bonus that may apply for tier members

Cheers - was just confirming whether I was understanding the point you were making in the post. Don't disagree at all with your comments. I know choosing DSC is a moot point for most once you're LTG, but at least when you do choose DSC, you pretty much know what you're going to get.

Pfff... who reads the T&Cs......? 😜

Jokes aside, I agree with @CaptJCool point as the average flyer would assume it's double their points earn for a given flight (i.e. whatever it says on their FF statement rather than the base earn). Not suggesting that failure for a passenger to read the T&Cs is a QFF problem, but at face value, when you compare Double Points vs DSC, DSC is far more cut and dried in terms of what you'll get.

Sure, but it’s pretty common these promos don’t stack.

Eg for Hilton Double Points offers, it’s from the base rate and doesn’t include the diamond bonus.

So much for Simpler

Base rate doubles points
The generosity is underwhelming

And for the average flyer, it would be double points.

If you have flown enough to qualify for gold or higher, there might be a reasonable expectation that you would understand/explore the promo?
