Hey guys,

Found some amazing EY fares while browsing today.

Cheapest points of origin seem to be Bangkok, Tokyo and Hong Kong.

THe best by far was BKK - (AUH) - AMS // NYC - AUH - MEL for $787aud (!!)

Thats a wide open jaw, but Iceland Air will get you from AMS to NYC (with a stop in Reykjavik if keen) for around $450

Add on a $270 JQ one way to BKK and that is the best darn $1500 RTW you will see.

Those feeling adventurous can even train to Oslo, and get a Norwegian dreamliner across to NY direct for around $300 ($1350 odd for the whole itinerary)

Some of us are time poor, so a simple BKK - (AUH) - AMS - (AUH) - MEL will set you back around $815

Most availability i saw was in March, and there is a minimum stay of 3 days (between first flight, and last departure point.

love to hear all of your thoughts/tweaks etc :)

was indeed a slow day in the office today.

Regardless, the 3 day min stay and positioning flight to BKK makes it VERY difficult to get this past the missus for a "leave pass" - Especially as i am off to Sturgis in 3 weeks, for 3 weeks :)

Hope some of you can take these up.

$787 with the NYC-MEL flight is insane, as the NYC-MEL portion is $1365 in isolation.

Pretty awesome deal. Just plugged in a similar trip BKK - AMS // JFK - AUH - BNE for late March/April and it came in at $712. :) I was going to wait to see if any more decent J fares ex BKK on the likes of EY and QR became available as the thought of past 24hr trips in Y still have my legs cramping up. If you're willing to fly Scoot ex OOL and the Norwegian option you mentioned - Im coming up witha total $1152 RTW - not bad :) Great find - sure it won't last long.

It will last - as it requires a certain nous to make it work :)

Unfortunately the J options on the EY legs are all 6k+ ... not worth it, so id slum it in Y for that price.

True. A while ago EY had some J seats ex BKK-AMS rtn for ~ $2100. Now the cheapest seem to be Finnair and Vietnam Airlines at around $2500

Great fares. These should earn AAdvantage RDMs too, since the economy fares book into U class at least for the return.

T class from Asia will earn nothing though.

Is it correct that you'll also receive 1point per mile for Velocity (1.25 for Silver). Can you simply add the miles from Great Circle Mapper (e.g. 17,745nm for the BKK->AMS via AUH + JFK->AUH->MEL) and multiply this amount by 1.25 in my instance. So in this instance ~22k points? Not a bad little kicker considering how cheap the flights are!

I just booked BKK-AMS (via AUH) // JFK-AUH-BNE for $740 in March ... Impressed.

Great stuff, unfortunately i don't have the time or expendable income to actually book one myself!

Loks like a great fare. Return leg available from all Etihad's US destinations as far as I can tell - DFW, SFO or LAX for a bit more mileage. Can be broken up with a free stopover in AUH each way too.
